Valve function

Freshly roasted coffee gives off carbon dioxide which is produced by roasting coffee. The natural phenomenon is the release of the collected gas, just through proper ventilation of the package. At this point, it should be emphasized that the bad gas must be released, but oxygen must not be let into the package during this process - this is the most important function of the valve. It is glued on the inside of the package, ensures proper gas exchange and, most importantly, it effectively retains air so that it does not get inside. There is no need to put pressure on the packaging for the valve to work, but it surely shows its effect better. The pressure opens the valve through which the accumulated gas escapes and because of the one-direction flow, your coffee will stay fresh and aromatic for a long time.

What kind of valves do we use?

We chose WIPF valves. This is the leading brand on the European market and we love to work with experts. WICOVALVE® valves are made of the highest quality components and materials. These valves guarantee proper tightness and durability for three years of use. We prefer model W006 - it fits perfectly for both - ground coffee and coffee beans. Its body is made of polyethylene (PE), and the pressure level is between 2.0 - 5.0 (mbar).

Why WIPF valves?

The WipfGroup company is a brand with over 100 years of experience, accompanied by years of practice, commitment and development. The Swiss company focuses primarily on the quality of its product, which is the most important issue for us. Thanks to developed technology, they introduce newer and newer solutions, which results in a very good reputation among companies in the packaging industry. First of all, you can count on their high professionalism. WICOVALVE® is a small valve with great effect and a three-year guarantee. These vavles are not only an innovative solution for coffee packaging, but also maintain the highest hygiene, protection and durability.

How do we apply the valves?

There are two ways: at the production stage or manually after the package is done.
At the production stage - we do it when the packaging is being formed. Then you can get your favourite bag already with valve which saves you some time.
But there are some cases when valves need to be applied after the package is ready. For example, when you need a bag with your individual graphic design. There is no possibility to print on packages with valves as they don't fit into most printing machines. In such cases we first print the design and then apply valve.

"I am interested in this package, but it doesn't have the valve. Could you add it?"

Sure, we could! If package you have chosen doesn't have the valve the solution is simple:
1. Add packages to cart
2. Add valves to cart (you can find them here: apply valves)
3. Add a message to your order e.g. "Please paste the valves to Flat Bottom bags (or another chosen from your cart)". You can also define what side it should be applied.

Can you buy our valves?

Of course :) Minimum order quantity is 10 000 pieces, you can find them here: valves

To sum up, valves are small and inconspicuous buttons, yet so important and necessary to ensure that your coffee does not lose its quality and delicious taste. You can trust that our packaging - with or without valve - will guarantee you that your customer will be delighted with his fresh and aromatic coffee. There is nothing more valuable to us than your satisfaction with our product. :)

Pozdrawiamy,
TTpack Team ;)
